Show time is almost here!! Here are some last minute details that will prepare you for the next few days.

Cast should come Tuesday at 4:30pm for dress rehearsal, wearing their basics (wear additional clothes as cover-ups) and have hair and makeup done.

**Please wash hair and shower on dress rehearsal and ALL show days. EVERY CAST MEMBER SHOULD WEAR DEODORANT! This helps cut down on body odor and keeps Sparks costumes fresher.**

Girls: You can choose between wearing your hair pulled back into a single french braid or pulled half-up with hair curled. Hair must be away from the face so your face will show well to the audience. Basic stage make up necessary.

Boys: Please have hair WASHED, combed and styled. *Boys powder to take off shine, blush if needed for color, eye liner not necessary.

Makeup: The majority of the cast will wear basic stage make up. Basic stage makeup is light foundation, powder, blush, and light mascara.

ATTENTION: If your child plays Iago, Jafar or the Genie, please contact Sharon Box ( 281-630-6713,) ASAP and let her know if you would be willing to apply your child’s make-up. The three characters that I mentioned above, have specific make-up needs. A picture will be provided. If you are unable to do the make-up, please bring your child 20 minutes before call time so someone can apply the make-up. PLEASE CONTACT SHARON BOX ASAP TO LET HER KNOW.

Cast is asked to come at the following times before each show-

Nov. 15th: 6pm

Nov. 16th: 6pm

Nov. 17th: 10am

*On Thurs & Fri: please feed your cast members BEFORE arriving.

*On Saturday, the cast will remain in costume in between shows. We ask if you can send a NON-MESSY snack with your child that they will eat before the 2nd show.

If you have any questions, please contact Sharon.

We can’t wait to see your kiddos perform! They’ve worked so hard and it shows! Thank you for sharing your talented kids with us!

Nov. 10th:

Everything you need to know to survive Tech Week and Shows! This is a long post, please read all the way to the end.

Rule #1 of Tech and Show week- Be Flexible!! Tech/Dress rehearsal times might change! The Directors may call the kids to come earlier, or have them stay later, depending on how the show is coming together.

Currently our tech schedule is as follows:

Mon. Nov. 12th, 4:30-8:30, Tues. Nov. 13th, 4:30-8:30

*Please have students eat dinner before they come. Snack will be provided (see Sign Up Genius link above to volunteer for this).

Show times are:

Thursday 7:00 pm

Friday 7:00 pm

Saturday 11:00 and 1:30

Call time for each show is generally 1 hour and 15 minutes before the show opens, but final call time will be determined as we progress. STAY TUNED! The cast will stay in between the two Sat shows.

Volunteer Sign Ups

In order for our show to be a success, we need parent volunteers! There are many positions/needs so please take a look at the Sign Up Genius list and sign up in one or more spots if at all possible.

Show/Candy Grams:

A fundraiser that’s always popular is Show Grams/Candy Grams, where friends and family can purchase a message and/or candy to be delivered to their favorite cast member right before the show begins. The kids love getting these little messages before their performances!

Each family is asked to donate 3-5 “movie theater” style boxes of candy in order to make this fundraiser a success. Please send these candy boxes with your student to one of our tech rehearsals.

What to Wear: **Please wash hair and shower every day of tech week** WEAR DEODERANT The lights are hot and we are sharing costumes. Please enforce this in your home to make everyones experience more pleasant;).

All students will wear “basics” under their costumes. Students should come with these basics on (females will need some kind of coverup over their basics). Due to different costume needs, some students will need different basics. Please read carefully below to know what your student needs:

Aladdin: White tank top and fitted athletic shorts

Jasmine: Nude tank top with black biker shorts

Jafar: any color of under tee shirt (tee shirt will help with sweating) and biker shorts

Sultan: white under tee shirt with short sleeves and fitted athletic shorts

Iago: black long sleeved shirt with fitted biker or athletic shorts

Genie: white tee shirt with short sleeves (not tank)

Abu: white tee shirt and fitted athletic shorts

Princess attendants and “belly dancers”: Nude tank tops and black biker shorts

Guards: black tank top (white if they don’t have one)

Agrabahns/Townspeople: white tank top and black biker shorts

**Please do not stress too much about under clothing. We realize that this information is coming to you at the eleventh hour. It took us longer than expected to get everyone costumed. Please try to have your child wear what is listed above. If you do not have and cannot get exactly that, try to wear something close to white or black tee shirt or tank top and fitted biker or athletic shorts.

Students should come to tech rehearsals dressed in their basics with a jacket or tee shirt and pants over them. (Basics are worn under clothing)

All students need jazz shoes. Black or tan will work fine. Students should wear no-show socks if they want socks. They should be wearing these shoes EVERY rehearsal.

Oct. 1st.

Good afternoon! We are half way through our rehearsal process! The first half of the process of putting together a production is the hardest on the kids. It requires a lot of patience as we work through parts and everyone is learning their blocking and choreography. We want to encourage any students who are feeling frustrated to HANG IN THERE! We are almost to the really fun part! We will begin trying on costumes in the next two weeks in preparation for our show! Students will also begin rehearsing on stage with props and set pieces next week. Please practice with your children at home. If they have lines to memorize they really need to be “off book” by this week. Listening to their music in the car is a great way for them to memorize their songs. Please help your kids by playing their music as much as possible. If the students can come prepared for rehearsals, the practices will be so much more fun and rewarding. We want to remind you how important attendance is. We cover so much material each week. Please review the dates above and plan to be at every tech rehearsal and show. We cannot stress this enough. We want all of the kids to feel confident on stage. Thank you for everything you do for your kids. We are so fortunate to get to spend each week with them! We will also be posting tickets by the end of this week! Yay!

  • Tuition is due. Automatic payments will be charged on the 5th. Please be sure that your payment information is up to date. (A one time costume fee of $40 will be charged this month)

  • Practice lines and music at home with your kids. This is easily done in the car running to and from activities. Students need to be off book by next week.

  • HANG IN THERE - we are almost to the really fun stuff! Hard work = an amazing reward!

  • Attendance is very important. Please plan ahead and clear your calendars for tech rehearsals and shows,
